Laboratory Analyst

Location: Midrand, Johannesburg, Gauteng, South Africa

Your Day-to-Day Responsibilities
  1. Perform research and development activities aligned with the laboratory's strategy, including designing and executing experiments, analyzing data, and developing new methods.
  2. Conduct daily laboratory analyses using sophisticated instruments such as chromatography, spectroscopy, and wet chemistry techniques.
  3. Ensure the accuracy and reliability of test results, troubleshoot analytical issues, and maintain laboratory equipment.
  4. Develop and deliver training programs for laboratory staff on new methodologies.
  5. Adhere to safety regulations, participate in quality assurance activities, and maintain detailed records to ensure compliance with ISO, GLP, and other regulatory standards.
Your Profile
  • Qualifications: A National Diploma, B.Degree, or similar qualification in Analytical Chemistry or higher.
  • Experience: 3-5 years of laboratory experience, preferably in research and development. Proven experience in developing and validating analytical methods. Experience in training or mentoring laboratory staff is highly desirable.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in techniques such as HPLC, GC-MS, LC-MS, ICP-MS, GC, ELISA. Strong data analysis skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office and LIMS.
