Job summary

A leading beverage company in South Africa is looking for a Laboratory Analyst to conduct sampling and analysis of brewing materials. The ideal candidate will have a National Diploma in Biotechnology or Analytical Chemistry and at least 2 years of experience in the FMCG industry. Key responsibilities include preparing laboratory samples, conducting analyses, and ensuring compliance with safety standards. This role requires a hardworking, self-motivated individual who is a team player and possesses strong analytical skills.

Qualifications

  • Must be self-motivated and dynamic.
  • 2 years working experience in FMCG industry required.
  • Familiar with VPO quality.

Responsibilities

  • Carry out sampling and analysis of raw materials and in-process samples.
  • Prepare apparatus and reagents as per methods.
  • Perform analysis using fundamental laboratory techniques.
  • Generate accurate results and maintain lab equipment.

The Key Purpose of this role is to carry out sampling, sample preparation and analysis of raw materials, in-process samples of brewing

product from Brew house, Yeast & Fermentation and Bright beer.

Key Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Sampling is carried out as per manualised methods
  • Relevant apparatus, equipment and reagents are prepared as per manualised method
  • Analysis is performed using fundamental laboratory techniques and practices
  • Accurate results generated, recorded and reported on time
  • Carry out lab equipment maintained and calibration as per manualized methods
  • Comply to company safety policy and procedure (Hazardous substance, PPE, MSDS, Safety incidents, lab safety rules)
  • Adhere to 5S and Housekeeping schedules
  • Conduct required and requested quality audits, completing the appropriate documentation and communicating the results
  • Coach, check, mentor and assist shift-based production teams on problem solving and correct use of problem solving techniques
  • Take part in regional and divisional process optimisation initiatives as required

Minimum Requirements:

  • Minimum – National Diploma in Biotechnology, Analytical Chemistry or equivalent
  • Minimum of 2 years working experience in FMCG industry
