Ngaanyatjarra Council Group seeks a KP Project Officer to work with youth aged 10-25 across the NPY region. The role involves supporting youth activities and initiatives focused on mental health and well-being, providing case management, and advocating for resource improvements. Candidates should possess relevant qualifications in social or youth work, and experience in remote Indigenous communities is preferred.

Ngaanyatjarra Pitjantjatjara Yankunytjatjara (NPY) Women's Council was founded and is still led, governed and directed by women from the NPY region.
It was created to give a voice to women across 26 desert communities in the cross-border regions of Western Australia, South Australia and the Northern Territory.
Today, we continue to provide progressive, innovative and evidence-based work in service delivery, advocacy and support.
The NPY Women's Council Youth Service works with children and young people aged 10-25 and their families.
Our service model includes case management, leadership and education, youth diversion and recreation, as well as advocacy and collaboration.
The main activities of the NPYWC Youth Program are to:
The Kulintja Palyaringkunytjaku (KP) Project Officer will support NPYWC youth workers and local support workers to deliver activities for young people aged 10–25 and their families across the NPY region, focusing on topics such as mental health, well-being, healthy relationships, substance use, and other key issues identified by Anangu communities.
The ideal candidate will have relevant qualifications in social work, youth work, community development, or related human services, along with experience in youth work.
Exposure to remote indigenous communities will be highly regarded.
You should have an understanding of issues affecting Aboriginal people in remote communities, particularly youth, and the ability to work in a cross-cultural environment, including partnering with Anangu communities and staff, and following guidance from Anangu Management.
You will work within a supportive, trauma-informed team in an organization that provides comprehensive orientation, supervision, and professional development, including training on vicarious trauma, case management, and four-wheel driving.
Additional support includes critical incident debriefing and counseling services.
