Key Account Manager
The Key Account Manager (in all market sectors using rigid plastic packaging) maintains long-term relationships with our current customers and maximizes sales opportunities within his respective segments.
The job holder identifies market trends and new commercial opportunities, and leads, develops, presents, and converts sustainable new customer contracts in the segments listed above.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Initiate market analysis for segments including injection moulding plastic packaging in SSA.
- Analyze and interpret data from market research related to new products, trends, competition, niche markets, and opportunities in pharmaceutical, agro-chemicals, and injection moulding plastic packaging.
- Collaborate with other departments to generate ideas, detect needs, and solve problems within this business area.
- Act as the key interface between current/new clients and relevant internal divisions to ensure smooth product development and processes.
- Maintain professional relationships with assigned accounts at all levels, aiming to increase customer satisfaction.
- Continuously assess, clarify, and validate customer needs.
- Coordinate with other departments on product availability, purchasing, production, quality, logistics, etc.
- Build and maintain solid customer and supplier relations to ensure timely delivery and satisfaction.
- Manage inbound/outbound levels of raw materials and packaging/returnable packaging.
- Ensure safety, risk, and quality management through assessments and safety practices, aiming for zero unsafe acts.
- Manage financial aspects of the department, including control, compliance, and risk management, to deliver quality outputs within budget.
- Develop and implement annual operational and project plans aligned with organizational strategic objectives.
Desired Experience & Qualifications
- Completed technical or commercial degree (Bachelor or Master) or equivalent, focusing on Sales, Chemical Engineering, or Polymer Science.
- At least 5 years' experience in Sales or Business Development within the relevant segments or related fields.
- Preference for experience in Food Packaging.
