Job summary

A leading company in the industrial chemical sector is seeking a Sales Manager to drive sales volumes and manage key accounts. The ideal candidate will have experience in the chemical industry, strong relationship management skills, and the ability to identify new business opportunities. Qualifications

  • Experience in sales within the industrial chemical raw material manufacturing industry preferred.
  • Experience in detergent, paints, coatings, or related chemical industries selling raw materials.
  • Strong relationship management skills with key accounts.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and drive sales volumes at key account customers.
  • Oversee distribution agencies for specific products.
  • Promote new and existing chemical raw material products.

Education

Tertiary qualification in chemistry or related field

Job description

  • A tertiary qualification, preferably a chemical degree or diploma is preferred but not essential for this role.
  • Previous experience having worked in a Sales role within the industrial chemical raw material manufacturing industry is preferred.
  • Previous experience having worked within the detergent, paints and coatings, construction or related chemical industries selling industrial raw materials to manufacturers is preferred.
  • Must be computer literate and able to work under pressure to meet deadlines.

The successful candidate will be responsible for :

  • Managing and driving sales volumes at key account customers maintaining strong relationships with existing key accounts as well as identifying and developing potential business opportunities.
  • Overseeing and managing the distribution agencies for specific products and additives.
  • Promoting new and existing chemical raw material products into the industrial manufacturing industry.
  • Ensuring that key accounts are serviced and that their expectations of products are met.
  • Identifying new potential customers ensuring that business is gained for the purpose of volume growth per product.
  • Identifying and developing new products and agencies within various markets.
  • Managing and negotiating the pricing of products with customers.
  • Strategically assisting with the setting of monthly price lists on various products.
  • Managing and implementing strategies to drive growth with key accounts.
  • Managing chemical raw material stock portfolio for key accounts.
  • Attending various conferences and trade shows nationally and internationally within the industrial chemical industries.
  • Setting and driving budget targets and sales objectives.
