Responsibilities
- Achieve an effective balance between marketing benefits and profitability for both Customers and Total South Africa.
- Identify financially viable solutions for each customer to ensure long-term, sustainable, and profitable business in a highly contested market where customers have the freedom of choice.
- Navigate internal and external constraints such as an uncertain regulatory environment, skills shortages, BBBEE transformation imperatives, etc.
- Operate in a tough and highly competitive marketing environment, balancing marketing benefits and profitability for GT Customers and TSA to ensure long-term sustainability.
Activities
The successful candidate will possess:
- An appropriate tertiary qualification in sales, business management, or administration.
- 4-6 years of marketing and sales management experience in the oil industry or a comparable industry.
- Experience in analyzing and interpreting financial statements/results.
- Experience interacting with employees, customers, and government/parastatal organizations.
- Strong sales management, negotiation, conflict resolution, analytical, and presentation skills.
- Knowledge of business and legal fundamentals.
- People management and interpersonal skills.
- Adherence to TMSA’s Code of Conduct, Ethics, Policies, and Procedures.
- Computer literacy, including familiarity with Harmony System (SAP) and SALSA.
The role involves enhancing Total's performance and presence in the Transport and Food channels by providing sound financial and operational solutions to ensure increased market share and profitability. The job also includes controlling marketing activities, achieving sales targets, and adhering to all standards and policies.
Candidate Profile
The Key Accounts Specialist will serve as the primary contact for customers, managing brand/product distribution, building relationships, ensuring visibility, achieving sales targets, and providing high-quality customer service. Responsibilities also include collection of receivables, market feedback, and maintaining professional relationships.
Main Responsibilities
- Achieve sales budgets for fuels and lubricants.
- Manage customer relationships, pricing, rebates, and discounts.
- Ensure collection of under recoveries and control gross margins.
- Manage customer credit and service delivery.
- Conduct variance analysis and business reviews.
- Manage stock, sales forecasting, and supplier costs.
- Prepare monthly reviews and KPI reports.
- Control contracts and administration.
- Manage operating expenditure and working capital.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory and company standards.
- Identify sales opportunities and implement marketing strategies.
- Gather market intelligence and investigate investment opportunities.
- Participate in developing sales and marketing strategies.

- Manage health, safety, environment, and security to ensure compliance and safety.
