Tough and very competitive marketing environment. Attention in achieving an effective balance between marketing benefits and profitability for both Mining Customers and TMSA to ensure long-term sustainable and profitable business in these dynamic markets where customers have freedom of choice.

Activities

As a Key Account Specialist (Mining), you would possess the following:

  1. Appropriate tertiary qualification in sales / business management or administration
  2. 4-6 years marketing and sales management experience in the oil industry or a comparable industry
  3. Exposure to analyzing and interpreting financial statements / results either in studies or work experience
  4. Interaction with employees, customers, and government / parastatal organizations
  5. Good sales management, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills; good analytical and presentation skills
  6. Good knowledge and understanding of business and legal basics
  7. Good knowledge and application of people management and interpersonal skills
  8. Good knowledge and application of TMSA's Code of Conduct / Ethics and Policies and Procedures
  9. Computer literacy is required (SAP, SALSA)

Candidate Profile

The Key Accounts Specialist is the point of contact for the customer and handles the distribution of the brand/products within assigned outlets. Responsibilities include building strong client relationships, achieving sales targets, ensuring high-quality customer service, managing receivables, and providing market feedback. Main Responsibilities

  1. Achieve sales budgets for fuels and lubricants, and contribute during budgeting
  2. Maintain and manage good customer relationships in the mining channel
  3. Manage pricing, rebates, discounts, and associated costs
  4. Collect under recoveries (transport, returns, maintenance costs, etc.)
  5. Control gross margin after variable expenses (GMVE) per customer
  6. Manage customer credit and ensure service delivery
  7. Conduct variance analysis and business reviews, and take corrective actions
  8. Manage stock and sales forecasting
  9. Monitor and control costs related to Fuel Management System and other suppliers
  10. Compile monthly business reviews and KPIs, including asset management
  11. Control contracts and administration to honor contractual rights and obligations

Asset & Stock Management

  1. Manage operating expenditure and working capital through budget monitoring
  2. Ensure compliance with regulatory and TMSA requirements for handling, storing, and distributing products

Mining Strategy

  1. Identify and collaborate on leads for mining business opportunities
  2. Implement and execute marketing strategies and activities
  3. Collect and report market intelligence and competitor activities
  4. Propose opportunities for investments and control capital expenditure
  5. Participate in developing sales and marketing strategies

HSSE

  1. Manage and minimize HSE risks within the area
  2. Ensure compliance with HSE policies, rules, and legal requirements
  3. Promote a safe working environment and contribute to HSE KPIs
  4. Identify and enforce HSE competency requirements

People

  1. Assist in developing, coaching, and mentoring trainees and new staff
