Job description

Thompsons Travel (Pty) Ltd has a vacancy for a Key Account / New Business Manager in our Sales Department in Johannesburg.

The successful candidate must possess the following skills:

  1. Effective communication
  2. Strategic planning
  3. Negotiations
  4. Problem-solving
  5. Time management

The primary focus of this key position is to manage and maintain sales relationships with customers.

The candidate should be able to find and develop new customers, whilst maintaining excellent relationships with existing corporate clients, providing outstanding service and support to the corporate client and the corporate consultant.

Job Responsibilities

  1. Identify new high net worth customers by looking for opportunities
  2. Find and develop new customers
  3. Cold Calling
  4. Compile Tender documents of existing and potential customer needs
  5. Compile Tender documents and processes for New Business acquisition
  6. Achieve Targets Set
  7. Organization of workshops, site inspections & product knowledge sessions
  8. Assisting in marketing awareness campaigns
  9. Monthly reports and quarterly reports on targets set
  10. Reports on new business acquisition
  11. Online training and implementation

Requirements

  1. EE Candidate
  2. 3+ years previous Key Account Management experience in a corporate retail travel environment
  3. Travel and Tourism qualification
  4. Sales and Marketing qualification
  5. Computer literate in MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook
  6. Excellent geographic knowledge
  7. Experience in working in a target driven environment and achieving personal sales
  8. Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
  9. Proactive, problem solver and innovator
  10. Ability to analyse corporate accounts and present reports
  11. Understanding of basic accounting principles
  12. Must be a team player
  13. Must have a driver's license and able to work outside normal working hours
  14. Process driven
  15. Respectful to colleagues and suppliers as well
  16. Adhering to our company values

Salary: Negotiable based on previous experience.
