Job description

Established furniture & homeware sourcing, importing and distribution company based in Durban is looking for a candidate who has experience in building and maintaining strong relationships with key clients, understanding their specific needs, and developing tailored strategies to drive sales and growth in the homeware sector.They should also have the ability to manage the entire sales cycle, from sourcing/developing product ranges, costing/quoting , presenting and ultimately closing deals, and must be knowledgeable in the homeware market and its trends.

  • Matric
  • 2-3 years experience within a similar role or industry
  • Exceptional Communication Skills – written and verbal
  • Own transportation

Duties:

1. Key Account Management Experience:

  • Relationship Building: Demonstrate a strong track record of building and nurturing long-term relationships with key accounts in the homeware industry.
  • Strategic Planning: Highlight experience in developing and executing key account plans, aligning with company objectives and customer needs.
  • Account Segmentation: Showcase the ability to identify and prioritize key accounts based on their potential and value to the business.
  • Sales Cycle Management: Demonstrate proficiency in managing the entire sales cycle, from lead generation and qualification to proposal development, negotiation, and closing deals.
  • Sales Techniques: Highlight experience in various sales techniques, including consultative selling, needs-based selling, and value-based selling.
  • Negotiation Skills: Showcase strong negotiation skills, ability to build consensus, and expertise in closing deals that benefit both the company and the customer.

3. Homeware Market Knowledge:

  • Industry Trends: Demonstrate a deep understanding of the homeware industry, including current trends, emerging technologies, and competitive landscape.
  • Product Knowledge: Showcase a strong understanding of homeware products, including their features, benefits, and target markets.
  • Customer Insights: Highlight experience in identifying and understanding the specific needs and preferences of homeware retailers and consumers.

4. Soft Skills:

  • Communication Skills: Demonstrate strong communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Highlight experience in identifying and resolving customer issues and challenges, providing solutions that meet their needs.
