Key Account Manager (Exports) - UPD Roodepoort
We are seeking a permanent Key Account Manager (Exports) to join United Pharmaceutical Distributors (UPD).
The position is based at the Lea Glen branch in Roodepoort and reports to the Commercial Executive.
Job Objectives
The senior key account manager's responsibilities include increasing the company's revenue by ensuring wholesale and distribution clients are satisfied, maintaining strong relationships, and participating in meetings, training, and workshops.
Success in this role requires data analysis, strategic execution, and continuous process improvements. An exceptional manager will handle multiple key accounts without compromising service quality.
Key Performance Areas
Relationship Building
- Identify and build influential relationships with external and internal stakeholders.
- Supervise and manage direct reports with a focus on succession planning.
- Manage other key account managers within the team.
- Coordinate with other departments for strategy execution.
- Understand client needs and suggest solutions based on UPD's capabilities.
- Engage effectively at an Exco level.
Client Relationship Management
- Address client requirements promptly.
- Manage and reduce client escalations.
- Serve as the primary contact for key accounts, fostering positive relationships.
- Understand clients' business objectives and logistics needs.
- Manage stock takes with stakeholders.
Research and Analysis
- Understand market trends and advise stakeholders accordingly.
- Update on product, market, and customer information.
- Stay informed on industry trends to position UPD effectively.
- Ensure clients meet their sales targets through internal alignment.
- Monitor implementation of KPIs and SLAs.
Customer Interactions
- Conduct monthly customer visits and address concerns.
- Negotiate contracts and meet KPI deadlines.
- Ensure compliance with SLAs and KPIs.
Reporting
- Prepare reports on account progress and forecasts.
- Schedule and present KPI meetings with supporting data.
- Document meeting minutes and follow up on open points.
- Maintain operational trackers and review billing accuracy.
- Lead projects and manage client requirements.
- Manage stock and CRM data, and oversee pricing adjustments.
