Role Overview

The Key Accounts Manager is responsible for managing a portfolio of high-value clients, ensuring retention, profitability, and growth. The role involves multi-level engagement across client organisations, coordination with internal teams, and strategic planning to strengthen the company’s presence across the Southern Africa corridor.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement strategic business plans for each Key Account.
  • Lead multi-level client engagement, from operational teams to decision-makers.
  • Track and report financial performance vs. targets (Gross Margin tracking, budgeting).
  • Drive new and extension business within key and existing accounts.
  • Participate in tender processes, pricing negotiations, and RFQ submissions.
  • Lead monthly performance reviews with clients, supported by internal reporting teams.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with internal front, middle, and back-office teams to ensure client satisfaction and issue resolution.
  • Maintain client information and market intelligence to identify threats and opportunities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or related field (preferred).
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar role within the logistics or supply chain sector.
  • Proven experience in key account development across regional logistics operations.
  • Strong commercial acumen, client-facing credibility, and data-driven decision making.
  • CRM proficiency and solid understanding of supply chain end-to-end.
