Job title: Key Account Manager - South Africa

In this role, you have the opportunity to: be responsible for developing and optimizing sales for Philips Personal Health (Male Grooming, Beauty, Oral Health Care, and Mother & Childcare) within major retail channels, including hypermarkets, distributors, and e-commerce. You will represent Philips in these accounts and act as an internal champion. You are expected to understand customer strategies deeply and define account strategies that drive profitable growth for Philips, managing the execution of key promotions to boost sell-out. The goal is to maximize the value of the short- and long-term business within these accounts for Philips.

Your role includes:

  • Developing and maintaining long-term, productive relationships to maximize value (top and bottom line) based on customer strategies, external trends, and market insights.
  • Coordinating efforts with Marketing, Order Desk, and Supply Chain teams.
  • Aligning the Account Strategy with customer priorities and driving sales plans to meet growth targets, leveraging the Joint Business Planning model.
  • Driving continuous improvement through Lean practices.
  • Maintaining and growing sales and market share via trade promotions, partnerships, distribution, and shelf management.

Job overview:

  • Manage relationships within key accounts.

  • Translate business plans into a 2-3 year strategic plan with clear targets and actions.
  • Implement operational plans for sales, marketing, and other techniques for key accounts.

  • Analyze sales data, market trends, and competition for strategic decisions.
  • Influence multidisciplinary teams to meet customer expectations.
  • Understand local needs, production, and ramp-up/down plans.
  • Drive improvement processes to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Possess in-depth knowledge of sales, marketing, logistics, and finance.
  • Develop expert knowledge of company products/services.
  • Engage with senior management on strategic matters, requiring tact and relationship management skills.
