Job description

Our Client is a South African fintech company, pioneering the future of payments. They are a passionate and collaborative team of developers, engineers, visionaries, techies, geeks, and nerds!

They build products that make payments personal and rewarding for customers and merchants alike. Our Client is looking for an experienced Key Account Manager or Merchant Growth Manager with demonstrated sales, customer success, and marketing experience at an intermediate level. Previous experience in the hospitality, retail, fintech, or corporate space will be advantageous.

The role involves growing existing clients by activating, educating, and expanding relationships through the company's proprietary product stack, especially after initial merchant acquisition.

Responsibilities include:
  1. Post-Onboarding Activation: Take full ownership of new merchants post-onboarding, ensure setup of QR placements, acquiring channels, collateral, and migrate merchants to paid plans.
  2. Merchant Revenue Growth: Identify up-sell and cross-sell opportunities, tailor strategies based on merchant verticals, and proactively engage merchants for growth or reactivation.
  3. Strategic Account Management: Build relationships with store staff, conduct quarterly reviews, and serve as the point of escalation for your portfolio.
  4. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with regional teams, operations, and product teams to align campaigns, resolve issues, and provide merchant feedback.
  5. Reporting & Discipline: Track merchant activity, maintain notes, forecast growth, and flag churn risks using tools like QuickSights and Zoho.

    This is a remote position, with occasional gatherings in Johannesburg South preferred.

    Requirements:
    • Solid experience in sales, customer success, and marketing
    • Fintech experience preferred
    • Strong business acumen and knowledge of payment products
    • Ability to interact with merchants in retail/hospitality industries
    • Familiarity with local retail/business offerings
    • Remote work capability
    • Proactive, strategic, accountable, and performance-driven
    • Fluent in reporting and CRM tools (Zoho, Campaign Manager, QuickSights)
