The Role of the Key Account Manager

Your focus is to promote high-quality lighting products—including lighting, lighting controls, and luminaires—while actively creating demand through strategic project hunting.

Key sectors include M&E contractors, Consultants, Food manufacturing, Logistics, Warehousing, and Industrial sectors.

You’ll be responsible for influencing decision-makers such as M&E contractors, Consultants, Food manufacturers, Logistics, Warehouses, and Industrial end users, ensuring their products are specified and delivered via appropriate channels.

Develop and maintain strong relationships across your territory to drive specifications and close project opportunities.

Collaborate with Lighting Designers to ensure optimal product solutions aligned with project requirements.

Seek out new project opportunities and convert specifications into sales.

Ensure all activities comply with company policies.

The Ideal Person for the Key Account Manager

The ideal candidate will have a lighting background, especially with external sales experience. This role suits someone already working with lighting contractors, installers, lighting designers, wholesalers, or in industrial sales, or a driven sales professional eager to move into the specification side of the industry.

Proven ability to build strong, lasting relationships with both consultants and end users.

Knowledge of the project sales process and exposure to sectors such as Food manufacturing, Logistics, Warehousing, and Industrial is preferred.

Confident communicator with the ability to influence specifications and secure project wins.

Ambitious, driven, and open to personal and professional growth, with a natural talent for relationship building, strategic thinking, technical knowledge, and people skills.

Basic Salary: £55K, £65K OTE, uncapped commission + bonuses, company car, 25 days holiday, generous contributory pension, full training, ongoing career development, and support within an expert sales team.
