Environment:
- Ensure growth and retention of key account relationships within Johannesburg and Pretoria, focusing on cross-category sales expansion for a leading school supplies provider.
- Develop partnerships through value-driven engagement, tailored strategies, and exceptional service.
- Enhance existing spend and unlock new opportunities across categories, ensuring sustainability through sound trading practices.
- Ideal candidate: strategic thinker with entrepreneurial spirit, 6–8 years' experience in Key Account Management or B2B Sales, preferably in office products, FMCG, or professional services. Strong understanding of pricing, discounting, rebates, and structuring profitable sales agreements.
Duties:
Strategic Account Management
- Develop and implement sales strategies tailored to each key account to increase multi-category product uptake.
- Build trust-based, long-term relationships with decision-makers.
- Conduct face-to-face meetings, host business breakfasts, and organize bespoke events to strengthen client relationships.
Sales Agreement & Contract Management
- Negotiate and monitor account-specific pricing and trading agreements for competitiveness and profitability.
- Structure deals and service terms to meet client needs while protecting margins.
- Maintain up-to-date, documented agreements aligned with internal margin expectations.
Revenue Growth & Trading Profit
- Achieve and surpass revenue and profit targets monthly, quarterly, and annually.
- Drive upselling and cross-selling based on category strategies and client insights.
- Monitor sales performance, identify gaps, and implement corrective actions.
Customer Experience & Operations
- Serve as the primary contact for client queries, escalations, and solutions.
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure seamless service and delivery.
- Contribute to client satisfaction, retention, and loyalty metrics.
Market Awareness & Intelligence
- Analyze customer trends and behaviors to identify new opportunities.
- Monitor competitors and market conditions to maintain a relevant value proposition.
Requirements:
- Matric (Grade 12); tertiary qualification in Sales, Business, or Marketing is advantageous.
- 6–8 years' experience in Key Account Management or B2B Sales, preferably in office products, FMCG, or professional services.
- Strong understanding of pricing, discounting, rebates, and structuring profitable agreements.
- Proficient in financial analysis related to trading profit and account performance.
- Experience managing high-value accounts and complex relationships.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Ability to organize client engagement initiatives (events, workshops, presentations).
- Results-driven, self-motivated, and autonomous.
- Skilled in forecasting, planning, and KPI delivery.
- Familiar with CRM systems, sales reporting tools, and digital platforms.
