Job description

The Key Account Manager works within Amazon Vendor Services (AVS), a B2B service aimed at helping strategic vendor partners grow their business with Amazon. As a Key Account Manager, you will gain comprehensive exposure to all e-commerce areas affecting long-term and short-term growth metrics for key vendors. Your role involves acting as a consultant to drive success metrics daily and ensuring the vendor’s experience with AVS reflects our customer obsession. You will collaborate with multiple internal teams, including merchandising, marketing, new product launch, category leads, pricing, finance, and supply chain, to enhance vendor success at Amazon. This role is strategic, operational, and tactical.

Key job responsibilities

  • Core Service: Use data analytics to identify industry opportunities and provide recommendations to improve business performance via Amazon programs, supporting long-term benefits for Amazon and vendors. Provide actionable insights to vendors to support decision-making and business growth.
  • Relationship Management: Serve as the primary liaison between vendors and Amazon, ensuring all interactions are trustworthy and foster long-term partnerships.
  • Availability & Operational Excellence: Drive supply chain efficiency by optimizing processes, managing defects, lead times, and stock levels to ensure product availability for customers.
  • Promotion & Funding: Recommend marketing and advertising strategies for vendors to promote new products, increase traffic, and improve conversions. Manage promotional activities for Amazon events and collaborate with Amazon Advertising for additional marketing opportunities.
  • Ranging: Support product range growth by managing new product launches, expanding local availability, and enhancing discoverability. Identify product gaps, onboard new products, and oversee product growth.
  • Store Data Quality Management: Enhance customer experience by conducting store checks, benchmarking, creating content, and ensuring accurate product descriptions and visibility.
  • Problem Solving: Develop and implement action plans for vendor growth, adapting services to meet business demands.
  • Project Management: Deliver projects that add value to vendors and the Amazon community.
  • Team Player: Participate in initiatives to improve the Amazon store and customer experience in South Africa.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree or a minimum 3-year Diploma (NQF 6)
  • At least 2 years of experience in account management, customer development, buying, business management, consulting, project management, financial analysis, or marketing.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Strong problem-solving skills and stakeholder engagement experience are advantageous.
