Job Description
Position Summary:
The Key Account Manager, Africa, is responsible for implementing and driving the sales strategy within allocated accounts in a defined region. Key Accounts include large strategic accounts, named Program Accounts, and key strategic Channel Partners.
Key Responsibilities:
- Achieve or exceed sales and margin targets for assigned accounts by increasing share of wallet, developing new business, and expanding the portfolio.
- Coordinate overall account activities with key customers.
- Develop and execute operational plans within existing accounts.
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities aligned with regional strategy.
- Communicate the company's value proposition, including value-added programs and services, and manage pricing strategies and RFP responses.
- Build and maintain relationships with senior-level contacts within customer organizations, Fisher Scientific Channel, Thermo Fisher Scientific, and external suppliers.
- Collaborate with Sales, Marketing, Supply Chain, and Finance to support account initiatives and contribute to forecasting and planning.
- Complete personal development activities and mandatory training on schedule.
Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree (Science preferred)
- Experience in selling to scientific customers, including end users and channel partners
- Export experience in an EMEA Emerging Market region
- Strategy deployment, selling, negotiating, and project management skills
- Experience in building relationships across various customer functions
- Experience working in a channel (distribution) business with Value Added Services
- Ability to assess needs and present comprehensive value propositions
- Understanding of regional business drivers and KPIs
- Proven collaboration with field sales teams
- Proficiency in Microsoft tools; sales force automation software is a plus
