Introduction:

A challenging opportunity has become available for a self-motivated, driven and innovative individual to join Grindrod Multi-Purpose Terminals a Division of Grindrod SA Ops (Pty) Ltd.

Grindrod Multi-Purpose Terminals is looking to secure a position of a permanent Key Accounts Manager to join the team.

Primary Activities and Responsibilities

  1. Build and manage strong relationships with key customers.
  2. Identify new business development opportunities and develop strategies.
  3. Drive revenue growth through proactive account management and sales activities.
  4. Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction.
  5. Conduct market research and analysis to stay up to date with industry trends.
  6. Demonstrate leadership qualities (entrepreneurial).
  7. Forecast and report on account performance to management.
  8. Identify and qualify potential leads within key accounts for future business opportunities.
  9. Develop and deliver presentations and proposals to key decision-makers within customer organizations.
  10. Document and maintain accurate records of all interactions with key accounts, including meetings, agreements, and communication.
  11. Ensure compliance with all relevant company policies and procedures.
  12. Stay informed about competitors' activities and market positioning.
  13. Attend industry events and conferences to network and stay informed.
  14. Forecast future sales and revenue for key accounts.
  15. Proactively identify and address potential risks or challenges within key accounts.

Minimum Requirements

  1. Grade 12
  2. Bachelor's degree in business administration or Logistics Management.
  3. 3-7 years of experience, demonstrating a strong understanding of customer needs, advanced negotiation skills, and the ability to manage complex deals.
  4. Proven experience in account management and sales in the logistics industry.
  5. Strong networking skills and the ability to build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders within client organizations.
  6. Strong understanding of the terminal, logistics, and port industry.
  7. Ability to analyze data related to transport costs, delivery times, and other KPIs to identify areas of improvement and develop strategies.
