SUMMARY OF THE ROLE

We are looking for a candidate who can promote and sell to new and existing Key customers/Key Accounts in a given country by developing strong customer relationships, liaising with the client market, and responding to sales and technical inquiries to achieve sales and margin targets. The candidate should ensure Jotun is seen as a preferred supplier of high-quality products, solutions, and services.

We seek a dynamic and experienced professional for a multinational, home-based role available in South Africa, Ghana, or Nigeria. This role involves remote work and frequent travel across these countries to build relationships and oversee operations, reporting directly to the Sales Manager – Protective Coatings – Jotun MENA in Dubai – UAE.

Responsibilities
  1. Business development through market visits, managing key accounts, tracking projects, influencing specifications, and setting targets for growth.
  2. Creating new customers by analyzing the market, planning visits, and responding promptly to inquiries to increase market share.
  3. Gathering market intelligence on customer needs, trends, and competition to inform strategies.
  4. Monitoring key projects to ensure product use aligns with sales targets.
  5. Maintaining customer relationships via visits, inquiries, and product advice.
  6. Managing pricing and payments to reduce DSO and improve gross margin.
  7. Coordinating with internal departments to ensure high-quality service.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in sales or relevant field.
  • Minimum 3 years of proven sales experience.
  • Experience in paints & chemicals, oil & gas, or mining is advantageous.
  • Knowledge of Protective Coatings market is essential.
  • Proficiency in English.
  • Willingness to travel up to 120 days annually within Africa and internationally.
