What You'll Be Doing

KBW is hiring for an Associate II on its Equity Research team covering Brokers, Asset Managers, and Exchanges.

The candidate should have 1-4 years of relevant experience and will be responsible for providing information, data gathering, analysis, building and maintaining financial models, and organizational support to a senior level Research Analyst. The candidate will need a solid understanding of the assigned sector and the ability to clearly state and defend the investment thesis for all stocks in the sector. A strong foundation in financial and accounting knowledge, along with excellent writing and verbal skills, is essential.

What We're Looking For
  • Build and maintain Excel-based financial models, including income statements, balance sheets, cash flow statements, and discounted cash flow analysis.
  • Formulate mathematical or simulation models, relating constants and variables, restrictions, and alternatives.
  • Analyze management information to identify operational problems.
  • Validate and test models, reformulating as necessary.
  • Build and update comparable company sheets.
  • Manage databases and electronic data services (e.g., Bloomberg, FactSet, Morningstar, Dealogic, Pregin).
  • Clearly state and defend the Analyst's investment thesis and outlook for each stock covered.
  • Respond to questions from institutional sales and clients regarding covered companies and industry data requests.
  • Develop written reports with guidance from senior Research Analysts.
  • Evaluate valuation methodologies for stocks and sectors.
  • Support special projects for senior Research Analysts.
  • Use all available resources to expand industry knowledge.
  • Some travel may be required, including local, regional, and national trips.
