Qualifications

  • 3-5 years of supervisory management experience in continuous operations.
  • 1-2 years of FMCG warehouse management experience.

Overview

Main Purpose of the Role: As a Junior Warehouse Manager is to manage a high performing warehouse team to ensure effective and efficient stock movement from inbound to outbound in line with company standards and requirements (Premier Way) in collaboration with the warehouse manager.

Job Objectives
  • To optimize the flow of stock in the warehouse through operational management processes that includes but is not limited to:
  • Implementation of the warehouse utilization plan
  • Process flow management and organization
  • General good housekeeping
  • Picking controls, stock control and/or rotation, pallet control
  • Regular review of stock buffers and providing feedback to Central Planning to minimize loss and meet customer requirements in line with company processes and procedures
  • To manage, control and minimize operational costs in line with agreed budget/targets through the implementation of cost control and continuous improvement practices in collaboration with the warehouse manager
  • To ensure compliance and adherence to the requirements of Premier Food Safety standards, policies and procedures through implementation of operational guidelines on good housekeeping practices
  • Daily cleaning processes and practices
  • Monitoring of operational controls
  • Ongoing management of bad goods
  • To ensure a safe working environment and compliance to the OHS Act and Premier Health and Safety policies and procedures through implementation of monthly SHE committee meetings and representatives
  • Regular reviews of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) as per schedule
  • To create a high performing warehouse team through the management of staff performance in line with the Premier way through processes to attract and retain talent, cascade and contract scorecards for all warehouse staff, and agree on and monitor performance and development through IDPs or team skills training plans
Qualification Requirements
  • Essential: Matric with mathematics
  • Desirable: Logistics or Supply Chain Management diploma

  • Essential: Supervisory management of continuous operations - 3-5 years
  • FMCG warehouse management - 1-2 years
