As a Senior Consultant within the Expert Witness Services team at Consilio, you will play a pivotal role in the company.

As part of an international team, you will conduct digital forensic investigations and relay findings that are integral to high-stakes litigation. Your consulting practices and technical expertise will provide our clients with the comprehensive insights they need to achieve their objectives through forensic analysis, ensuring they receive accurate, timely, and legally sound conclusions that support their decision-making and legal processes. Responsibilities

1. Respond in a timely manner to both internal and external stakeholders.
2. Confidently report complex technical information to non-technical clients.
3. Perform forensic investigations and reporting from physical devices, predominately Computers and Mobile Devices.
4. Perform forensic investigations and reporting from corporate systems, predominately Microsoft M and Google Vault.
5. Leverage experience with forensic tools, including Encase, FEC, FTK, Axiom, Oxygen, and Cellebrite, to investigate digital data sources.
6. Independently perform remote and onsite collections in a defensible manner locally where required (Occasionally internationally).
7. Conduct testing and research for new workflows and methodologies, as requested.

Qualifications

• Minimum Experience Requirements: Bachelor's degree in forensic computing or equivalent relevant experience. 3-5 years of experience related to computer forensic analysis and consulting roles.
• Required Skills for the Role: Displays a high degree of comfort operating in a corporate client-facing environment. Ability to thrive in a highly collaborative team environment. Excellent corporate communication skills – both written and verbal. High level of attention to detail / Investigative mindset. Proficiency with digital forensics tools such as Axiom, EnCase, FTK, X-Ways. Proficiency with mobile device forensics tools such as Cellebrite, Oxygen, XRY. Understanding of computer file systems and operating systems (Windows, macOS). Understanding of mobile file systems and operating systems (iOS, Android). Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Availability for short notice or weekend work, including occasional travel when necessary.

Preferred Attributes

• Familiarity with corporate email system environments and logging capabilities.
• Understanding of South African laws related to cybercrime, data protection (like the Protection of Personal Information Act - POPIA), and digital evidence handling.
• Certifications – GIAC, EnCase, Cellebrite, Nuix, CFE, or similar.
