Job description

Location : Century City - Cape Town - ONSITE ( No out of town applications will be considered)

Salary : R10k – R15k pm CTC

Transport : A valid driver's license (manual) is non-negotiable, and owning your own car is preferred.

Main duties and responsibilities

• Resolving Tier 1 support tickets
• Implement changes and projects such as version upgrades and migrations
• Perform proactive optimisation and implementation of best practices
• Document processes and procedures to increase repeatable quality and automation
• Develop relationships and communication throughout the company and with customers
• Conduct the implementation of Hardware and Software projects based on Wintel and virtualisation platforms

Essential skills and experience

• Minimum 2 years overall experience – with an interest in the IT MSP industry
• Working knowledge with Windows 2012 R2 / 2016 / 2019 / 2022
• Entry-level experience with Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, IIS, PKI etc.
• Entry-level experience with VMware vSphere 5.5 or above
• Entry-level experience with Hyper-V 2012 or above
• Entry-level experience / understanding of patch testing and deployment
• Good understanding of IP addressing and subnetting
• Entry-level understanding of mass storage like SANs and NAS devices
• Entry-level knowledge of VLANs, routing, firewall behaviour, packet shaping etc.
• Comfortable working in server rooms / datacentres, racking and cabling up kit if required
• Strong communication (both written and verbal) and comfortable face-to-face in both English and Afrikaans
• Entry-level knowledge of ITIL framework mindset in terms of structured incident management, request management, change management, contractual scope alignment etc.
• Entry-level knowledge of Exchange 2016 and above
