Junior Support Engineer (Commercial and Industrial Solar Sector)

Our client is seeking an experienced and self-reliant Junior Support Engineer specializing in the Commercial and Industrial (C&I) solar sector in South Africa.

The Junior Solar Support Engineer plays a vital role in project development, collaborating with the Project Engineer and Project Manager.

Responsibilities include:

1. Monitoring and fault-finding in the existing asset portfolio.
2. Contributing to the sizing, pricing, and initial technical designs of solar projects.

Key Requirements:

• BTech Degree in Electrical Engineering.
• Experience in Renewable Energy, particularly solar.
• Proficiency in MS Office, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
• Familiarity with solar software like Helioscope and PV Syst.
• Own vehicle and driver’s license; comfortable with frequent travel within Gauteng.
• Monitoring systems and fault-finding skills.
• Detail-oriented with excellent communication skills.

Additional Responsibilities:

1. Monitoring of Existing Assets (40%)
2. Remote daily monitoring of our asset portfolio.
3. Coordinate technical team callouts.
4. Identify and troubleshoot underperforming assets.
5. Regularly report system performance to management.

1. System Design & Quotation (40%)
2. Develop initial solar and BESS system designs based on client input.
3. Generate quotations for the sales team.
4. Conduct technical site visits as needed.

1. Ad Hoc Support (20%)
2. Assist Senior Project Engineer with detailed engineering packs.
3. Manage metering partner relationships.
4. Support operations team with research on metering and hardware development.
