Junior Supply Chain Analyst | Cape Town | Upmarket Tobacco Retailer

We are looking for Junior Supply Chain Analyst to join our team. To be successful in this role, you should feel comfortable using data to influence others and building scalable systems and processes to allow for the company to grow. In joining this team, you will have the opportunity to both build and operate in an ambiguous fast-paced environment and will drive initiatives that improve sales, customer experience, and process improvement within retail and operations.

Duties & Responsibilities to include, but not limited to:

1. Work closely with the Supply Chain Manager, mastering systems, procurement, allocations and distribution, ensuring the right merchandise mix reaches the right stores at the right price, right on time.
2. End-to-end stock management.
3. Liaison to stores regarding stock levels and requirements.
4. Day-to-day coordination of DC tasks to support the distribution plan.
5. Product testing and approval.
6. Managing effective business relationships with our national supplier base.

Minimum Requirements:

1. Relevant degree with 3 years working experience in FMCG / Retail industry or in a similar role.
2. Advanced Excel abilities.
3. Knowledge of data analytics and reporting.
4. Knowledge of industry’s legal rules, regulations, and guidelines.
5. Working knowledge of data analysis and performance / operation metrics.
6. Knowledge of different business functions and principles (e.g., supply chain, finance, HR, Marketing, Procurement, and customer service etc.)
7. Computer literate and proficient in Microsoft Office and various business software (e.g., ERP, CRM).
8. Good with numbers and financial planning.
9. Outstanding communication and negotiation skills.
10. Excellent organisational and leadership ability.
11. Problem-solving aptitude.
12. Ability to challenge and debate issues of importance to the company.
13. Delegate responsibilities effectively.
14. Conflict management.

Location: Western Cape, Head Office based in Edgemead
Salary: R30 000 to R40 000 per month (depending on skills and experience)
Ideal start date: 01-06-2025
