Job description

Duties and Responsibilities :

  1. Student Registration and Academic Progression Counselling: Supports the facilitation of registration changes for students, whether within a semester, between semesters, or between years of study. Ensures understanding of different curriculums (e.g., phase-in and phase-out) to advise students correctly.
  2. Active Student Engagement and Support: Assists with disseminating student-related policies (new and updates) and provides guidelines on user accessibility and navigation of student platforms.
  3. Student Query Resolution: Manages the general email and telephone line, logs student queries, responds or escalates to the Student Relations Officer, and ensures queries are resolved within the Service Level Agreement. Maintains accurate administration and captures all student contact details in the academic system. Follows up on unresolved queries and supports the rollout of relevant surveys.
  4. Cross-Departmental Query Resolution: Liaises with various campus departments to stay updated on relevant changes, ensuring smooth assistance from the Student Relations Centre.
  5. Team Support, General & System Administration: Ensures all student notes are accurately captured, maintains knowledge of products and policies, flags query trends, and implements initiatives to improve query resolution. Complies with POPIA legislation and collaborates with the Academic Operations team for efficient departmental functioning.

Minimum Qualification Requirements : Minimum of a National Diploma / Advanced Certificate (NQF Level 6).

Minimum Work Experience Requirements : Minimum of 1 year of administrative and customer service experience, and 1 year of operational or project management experience.

Working Hours : Monday to Friday: 08:00 - 17:00 / 07:00 - 16:00; Fridays: 08:00 - 12:00 / 07:00 - 11:00 (if on Saturday shift); Saturdays: 08:00 - 13:00
