Job description

Our client has an exciting opportunity in their growing team for a Junior Solar Engineering Project Manager. This position will play a key role in delivering high-quality solar and electrical engineering projects across diverse sites. The ideal candidate should be hard-working and self-motivated; with the ability to take responsibility and have a problem-solving mindset.

The incumbent should be willing to travel and work on-site.

Main Responsibilities
  • Manage solar and electrical engineering projects from planning to completion.
  • Oversee subcontractors and site teams to ensure quality and timelines are met.
  • Interpret and work with electrical and civil single line diagrams.
  • Ensure compliance with Health & Safety regulations on-site.
  • Manage project budgets, forecasting, and reporting.
  • Handle procurement of all project-related equipment.
  • Coordinate the installation of PV panels, mounting structures, inverters, batteries, and distribution boards.
  • Monitor project progress using various software tools and monitoring portals.
  • Maintain accurate administrative and project data records.
  • Manage engineering contracts and construction deliverables.
  • Assist with the design of electrical and solar systems.
  • Travel to and manage multiple project sites as required.
Education and experience
  • B-Tech or B-Eng in Electrical Engineering.
  • 3–5 years in the Solar or Electrical Engineering industry.
  • Project management experience, including:
    • People and subcontractor management;
    • Budgeting and forecasting;
    • Equipment procurement;
    • Construction and contract management; and
    • Installation of solar and electrical systems.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, PDF tools, and solar monitoring platforms.
  • Strong administrative, data, and document management skills.
