Our client, a reputable multi-disciplinary engineering firm, is currently undertaking an exciting Greenfields project in Limpopo and is looking for an experienced Area Supervisor to join their team on a 6-month contract.

Our client is a leader in providing innovative and comprehensive solutions in the mineral processing sector. You'll be part of a team that prioritizes safety, compliance, and cutting-edge engineering practices.
Essential Qualifications and Skills:

• Over 5-10 years of relevant construction experience - MHSA regulations
• Proficient with computers
• Fluent in English and/or Afrikaans
• Valid driver's license and own transportation
• Willingness to work weekends and overtime when necessary
• Strong leadership skills and the capability to effectively manage teams
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to handle on-site challenges
• Strong communication skills for interacting with team members and stakeholders
• Proficient in reading and interpreting construction drawings, plans, and specifications
• Experience with heavy construction equipment and machinery
• Preferred certifications in construction and safety, such as First Aid and Safety Supervisor

Your Role and Responsibilities:

• Oversee daily construction operations within a designated area, ensuring adherence to project plans and timelines
• Manage all daily task-specific permits within your area
• Lead and motivate construction crews, maintaining high productivity and safety standards
• Monitor work progress to ensure compliance with quality, safety, and environmental regulations
• Coordinate with project managers and other supervisors to meet construction deadlines
• Conduct regular inspections to ensure adherence to health, safety, and environmental regulations
• Identify and address potential hazards or issues on site
• Ensure availability and proper allocation of materials, equipment, and personnel
• Maintain clear communication with project managers and other supervisors about progress, challenges, and material requirements
• Keep detailed documentation and reports on daily activities, resource usage, and any incidents
• Review contractors' daily diaries and ensure approval from relevant site managers
• Provide training and mentorship to construction personnel, enforcing safety protocols and standards
• Implement Quality Control Procedures (QCPs)
• Issue Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) and recognize good performance
• Ensure proper maintenance and functionality of construction equipment and tools
• Promote a positive and collaborative work environment within the construction team
