This is the front line of business development, where you'll be mentored by two experienced sales leaders with 25+ years of combined success in recruitment, deal-making, and commercial growth.
Vertrou supports fast-scaling recruitment companies worldwide with high-performing talent based in South Africa. We’re well-established in the recruitment-to-recruitment (Rec2Rec) space but we’re also expanding into industries like SaaS, tech, construction, and accounting, working with clients who value results, commitment, and speed.
What you’ll do:
- Drive outbound business development. This is a 100% outbound sales role focused on generating qualified conversations.
- Use tools like LinkedIn Sales Navigator, Bullhorn CRM, and custom outreach platforms to build and nurture global sales pipelines.
- Most importantly, nothing beats getting on the telephone and making conversations over the phone.
- Book meetings directly for our CRO and Founder with business leaders across the UK, US, and beyond.
- Work hand-in-hand with our delivery, sourcing, and back-office teams in South Africa.
- Gain hands-on coaching in sales fundamentals, commercial messaging, objection handling, and conversion strategy.

Who you are:
- Based in Cape Town and able to commute into the Blouberg office 3 days per week (Mon/Tues/Thurs).
- Ideally up to 2 years experience in sales or someone early in your career, but you’re serious about becoming great at sales.
- Excellent communicator with strong spoken English and a natural ability to connect.
- Obsessed with improving, learning, and progressing in a sales-focused environment.
- Ambitious, switched-on, and ready to be coached.
