About the Role

This is a unique entry-level opportunity to gain hands-on exposure to the commercial and operational side of the energy industry. You will report directly to the Operations Manager and work closely with the wider team across proposal development, tender execution, and internal processes that support our trading operations. This role is ideal for someone who is detail-oriented, thrives under pressure, and is hungry to learn.

Key Responsibilities

• Tender Support & Proposal Generation: Assist in preparing tailored commercial proposals, managing customer and generation data inputs, and supporting tender documentation submission.
• Team Support: Provide general administrative support to the team to help ensure smooth daily operations.
• Process Management: Help run concurrent workstreams in a deadline-driven environment, including internal reporting, monthly transaction data validation, and stakeholder engagements.
• Market Research: Contribute to competitor reviews and policy tracking to support internal decision-making.
• Learning & Development: Take initiative to understand new concepts, tools, and workflows quickly. This role will expose you to technical, financial, legal, and operational aspects of power trading.

What We’re Looking For

• Education: A recent graduate with a degree in Engineering, Construction Studies, Property Studies, or a similarly analytical and versatile field.
• Work Experience: Any form of work experience (internships, part-time work, volunteer roles) would be beneficial, but is not required.
• Skills & Traits:
• Critical thinker with strong attention to detail
• Proactive and reliable team player
• Excellent organisational and communication skills
• Able to multitask and manage competing priorities
• Comfortable with Excel and keen to build numerical confidence

Location

This role is based in Claremont, Cape Town, with opportunities to travel to Johannesburg on an ad-hoc basis.
