Job summary

Greys Recruitment is seeking a Junior Production Planner for a manufacturing-related business based in Woodstock, Cape Town. The role supports production planning, inventory management, stock control and production administration to ensure materials are available and schedules are maintained efficiently.

The position is a 3-month contract with the possibility of extension or permanent employment, and requires strong numeracy, Excel proficiency and experience in stock management.

Qualifications

• Matric/Grade 12 is essential.
• 2–4 years’ experience in production planning support or related roles.
• Experience with stock management and inventory control.
• Proficiency in Excel and basic forecasting.
• Good written and verbal English communication.

Responsibilities

• Assist with daily production planning, scheduling and workflow coordination.
• Monitor inventory levels and ensure materials are available for production.
• Perform stock reconciliations and investigate discrepancies.
• Process production orders and update inventory transactions.
• Maintain accurate production records and stock reports.
• Assist with material planning and basic demand forecasting.
• Coordinate with departments to ensure material availability.
• Update production and inventory information on internal systems.
• Provide administrative support to ensure efficient operations.

We are seeking a Junior Production Planner for a manufacturing-related business based in Woodstock, Cape Town.
This is an initial 3-month contract, with the possibility of extension or permanent employment. The successful candidate will support production planning, inventory management, stock control and production administration to ensure materials are available and production schedules are maintained efficiently.
Location:

Woodstock, Cape Town, Western Cape, South Africa.

Requirements:

• Matric / Grade 12 is essential.
• 2-4 years' experience in production planning support, production administration, inventory control, stock management or order processing.
• Previous stock management experience is essential.
• Intermediate computer literacy, including Microsoft Excel.
• Good numerical ability and an understanding of stock reconciliations, quantities and basic forecasting.
• Strong written and verbal English communication skills.
• Experience in manufacturing, FMCG, food production or distribution will be advantageous.
• Exposure to ERP systems, inventory management software or production planning systems will be beneficial.
• Strong organisational skills, attention to detail and the ability to work under pressure.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist with daily production planning, production scheduling and workflow coordination.
• Monitor inventory levels and ensure raw materials and other production requirements are available when needed.
• Perform stock reconciliations, investigate inventory discrepancies and assist with stock control.
• Process and update production orders, inventory transactions and production documentation.
• Maintain accurate production records, stock reports and inventory data.
• Assist with material planning, quantity calculations and basic demand forecasting.
• Identify potential stock shortages and communicate issues that may affect production schedules.
• Liaise with relevant departments to coordinate material availability and production requirements.
• Update production and inventory information on internal systems.
• Provide administrative support to ensure production operations run efficiently.
