Job summary

JVR Software in South Africa seeks a recently qualified or junior Process Engineer to join an experienced Process Engineering team. The role is ideal for a motivated Chemical Engineering graduate looking to build a career in process design, plant engineering and industrial process technologies.

You will gain exposure to engineering design, process calculations, equipment specifications and project implementation under the guidance of senior engineers.

Qualifications

• Has at least a degree or diploma in Chemical Engineering.
• 0–3 years’ relevant experience; recent graduates encouraged to apply.
• Basic understanding of chemical engineering principles, mass and energy balances.
• Exposure to process simulation software is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Assist with mass and energy balances and process design calculations.
• Prepare and update Block Flow Diagrams (BFDs), Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs) and Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs).
• Support the preparation of equipment data sheets and technical specifications.
• Assist with process modelling, design documentation and technical reports.
• Participate in plant inspections, testing and commissioning activities.
• Support process optimisation and research and development initiatives.
• Work closely with mechanical, electrical and instrumentation engineering teams.
