Job description

About this Position

The Junior Plant Engineer will assist senior engineers with planning, execution, and monitoring of plant maintenance and projects. Responsibilities include supporting project documentation, reports, and presentations, troubleshooting plant equipment issues, providing solutions, managing electrical maintenance processes, and overseeing investment projects. The role also involves monitoring the operation of existing production technologies and the new solar plant.

What You’ll Do
  1. Develop and implement maintenance strategies.
  2. Assign tasks and monitor departmental progress.
  3. Measure, monitor, and report equipment availability and reliability. Must be familiar with PLC integration and controls (Siemens) as well as fault finding.
  4. Be conversant with power factor correction.
  5. Prepare and present regular reports on maintenance activities and performance.
  6. Collaborate with other departments to support production.
  7. Suggest improvements in local production processes and propose solutions.
  8. Monitor KPIs for engineering and maintenance processes.
  9. Perform scheduled maintenance and repairs on systems, equipment, and machinery.
  10. Inspect systems and machinery to identify potential problems.
  11. Conduct regular tests on electrical systems, equipment, and machinery to ensure proper operation.

  1. Minimum education: B.Eng or BSc degree in Electrical Engineering (Non-Negotiable).
  2. Specialization in industrial plant maintenance (Manufacturing).
  3. Minimum of 2 years' experience in a manufacturing environment.

Additional knowledge required:

  • Knowledge of instrumentation (advantageous).
  • Team supervision skills.
  • Experience with PLCs and industrial equipment and processes.
