Job description

Junior Pharmacist (PCDT) required in Rustenburg, North West.

Seeking an energetic, open-minded Junior Pharmacist who is passionate about patient care and eager to work in a collaborative Primary Care Unit environment.

This is not a traditional retail role — we’re looking for someone with a positive attitude, excellent customer service skills, and a willingness to learn a new way of delivering healthcare in a pharmacy setting. You’ll work alongside a nurse and two doctors to provide holistic primary healthcare services to the community.

Market related basic plus commission.

Permanent | Full-time | Weekdays 11:00 – 19:00 | 2–3 weekends/month.

Minimum Requirements:

  • SAPC Registered Pharmacist
  • Completed 7 years of pharmaceutical studies (BPharm degree, completed internship and community service)
  • Fluent in English and Afrikaans to effectively communicate with clientele and patients
  • Valid driver’s license and own transport
  • Interest in completing the PCDT (Primary Care Drug Therapy) course
  • Strong interpersonal and client relationship skills
  • Well-presented, neat, and professional appearance
  • Positive, energetic personality with a willingness to learn
  • Enjoys challenges and thrives in a team environment
  • Passion for customer service and patient care

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Dispense medication in compliance with SAPC standards and PCDT scope
  • Support and work collaboratively with the on-site nurse and doctors
  • Deliver outstanding customer and patient service
  • Embrace a modern retail pharmacy approach and adapt to new systems
  • Maintain a neat, clean, and professional working environment
  • Build strong client relationships and ensure repeat business through care and service
  • Participate in ongoing professional development and complete the PCDT course (if not already certified)
  • Be available for weekend shifts (2–3 per month)
