Job description

Red Ember Recruitment is recruiting for a Junior Payroll Administrator for our client in Waterfront. This role involves managing employee compensation, statutory deductions, benefits, and leave in compliance with South African labour laws, company policies, and tax regulations. The incumbent will collaborate closely with HR and finance teams to ensure seamless payroll operations and address any payroll-related inquiries.

Requirements
  1. Payroll Processing:
    • Administer and process monthly/weekly payroll for all employees within specified deadlines, ensuring accuracy and compliance with South African regulations.
    • Calculate and process wages, salaries, bonuses, commissions, overtime, shift allowances, and other earnings.
    • Ensure the correct application of statutory deductions including PAYE, UIF, and SDL, as well as employee benefit deductions such as retirement funds and medical aid.
    • Generate required payroll reports including earnings summaries, tax reports, and leave reports.
  2. Other Administrative Duties:
    • Support the annual audit process, ensuring compliance with company policies and legal requirements.
    • Stay updated on changes to payroll laws, tax regulations, and employment standards in South Africa.
    • Assist in the preparation of year-end payroll reports and statutory filings.
    • Manage employee data effectively.
Education & Experience
  • Minimum of 2-3 years experience in payroll administration.
  • Strong knowledge of South African payroll systems and regulations, including PAYE, UIF, SDL, and BCEA.
  • Experience using Payspace payroll software (or similar) is advantageous.
