Job description

Machine Operator Responsibilities:

  1. Operate machines following Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and instructions.
  2. Monitor BIB (Bag in Box) filling processes to ensure smooth production flow and quality through regular physical checks.
  3. Perform sanitation activities to maintain cleanliness of the BIB filling line and surrounding areas.
  4. Ensure machines operate within specified standards by checking calibration and settings regularly.
  5. Verify the correct raw materials are used for each production run to meet product specifications.
  6. Load the BIB filling machine with appropriate materials, following operating procedures.
  7. Complete relevant documentation (QC Production Record Pack) accurately and timely according to quality control standards.
  8. Address processing issues promptly to minimize impact on quality and efficiency.
  9. Ensure compliance with Quality Management System (QMS) standards by verifying product specifications and documentation.
  10. Follow health, safety, and housekeeping policies, including sanitation testing of buffer tanks and CCPs such as chemical residues.
  11. Participate in HACCP principles adherence and annual training.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Grade 12 qualification.
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in BIB production or a manufacturing environment, preferably in food or beverage industries.
  • Familiarity with BIB filling, troubleshooting, and maintenance.
  • Knowledge of BIB production processes and ability to follow SOPs and machine instructions.
  • Experience with Human Machine Interface (HMI).
  • Ability to identify machine issues and perform basic adjustments with specialized tools during changeovers.
  • Knowledge of Pre-requisite Program ISOPH01, HACCP systems, and CCPs including sanitation testing of buffer tanks.
