Job summary

NTT DATA is seeking an L1 Network Engineer to monitor, maintain, and troubleshoot enterprise networks. You will work with routers, switches, wireless access points, and firewalls, supported by monitoring tools, to ensure high availability and security.

Responsibilities include incident response, basic troubleshooting, documentation, and collaboration with IT and security teams. On-site role in Rustenburg, North West region, with opportunities to grow in networking and cybersecurity.

Qualifications

• Formal IT education in relevant fields.
• Networking fundamentals and TCP/IP knowledge.
• Familiarity with WAN/LAN, VLANs, and routing.
• Experience with network monitoring and security basics.
• Willingness to obtain certifications.

Responsibilities

• Monitor network performance and availability using network management tools.
• Assist with the installation, configuration, and maintenance of network devices (routers, switches, wireless APs, firewalls).
• Perform basic network troubleshooting and resolve connectivity issues.
• Escalate complex network incidents to senior engineers when required.
• Document incidents, resolutions, and troubleshooting procedures.
