Job description

Job Summary : The Mechatronic Engineer is responsible for assisting the R&D Manager in the development and production of electro-mechanical equipment and systems.

This role combines knowledge of mechanical technology with electrical and electronic circuits.

The Engineer will troubleshoot issues, perform design work, develop prototypes, and ensure equipment operates efficiently and safely.

The aim is to succeed the current R&D Manager within the next 5 years. As the R&D department handles confidential developments, the incumbent must respect confidentiality.

Key Responsibilities :
  1. Installation and Setup : Install and set up electro-mechanical equipment, including motors, drives, sensors, and controllers. Ensure proper alignment and calibration. Collaborate with the R&D Manager and technicians to implement new systems and upgrades, and contribute to innovative product designs.
  2. Maintenance and Repair : Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and electronic issues. Repair or replace defective components such as bearings, motors, contactors, relays, and wiring.
  3. Testing and Inspection : Conduct inspections to ensure proper operation. Use testing instruments like multi-meters, oscilloscopes, and vibration analyzers. Perform functional tests to verify designs.
  4. Safety and Compliance : Follow safety protocols and ensure compliance with relevant standards. Participate in safety training.
  5. Documentation and Reporting : Maintain accurate records of work, parts used, and development activities. Prepare reports on equipment status and maintenance procedures. Communicate effectively with team members. Participate in continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications :

  • Technical High School education; an Associate degree, BTech, or technical certificate in electro-mechanical technology or related field is preferred.
  • Minimum of 5-6 years of experience in electro-mechanical roles, preferably in manufacturing or industrial settings.

Skills and Competencies :

  • Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude; CAD experience.
  • Innovative and able to undertake unconventional projects.
  • Self-motivated with initiative for new ideas.
  • Proficient in reading technical diagrams and manuals.
  • Skilled with hand tools, diagnostic equipment, and troubleshooting.
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and in teams.

  • May require working outside normal hours, including evenings and weekends.
