Placements24 is seeking a Junior Mechanical Engineer to join our Paarl product development team. You will assist in designing and developing mechanical components, creating 2D/3D drawings, and supporting testing and validation efforts.

You will work with senior engineers and managers in a collaborative, on-site environment, gaining hands-on experience across the product lifecycle while contributing to manufacturability and cost optimization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• 0-3 years of experience in mechanical design or product development.
• Proficiency with CAD software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD) is essential.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Eagerness to learn, proactive attitude and ability to work in a team.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the design and development of mechanical components and systems using CAD software under guidance of senior engineers.
• Create and modify 2D and 3D drawings, BOMs, and technical documentation.
• Participate in product testing and validation activities, collecting and analyzing data.
• Support troubleshooting and problem-solving during development.
• Collaborate with manufacturing and supply chain to ensure designs are manufacturable and cost-effective.
• Conduct literature reviews and research on new technologies and materials.
