Qualifications :

Experience :

  • Proven working experience in the mechanical / consulting industry with project experience in mechanical / mining projects, with a minimum of 5+ years.
  • Must be fully computer literate in MS Office at a high level.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical design principles, codes, and standards.
  • Experience with AutoCAD, Inventor, Navisworks.

  • Broad understanding of mechanical infrastructure systems, including mining infrastructure, commercial construction practices, contracts, and budget/schedule management.
  • Good interpersonal and people management skills, with a strong desire to lead projects.
  • Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget.
  • Assist in defining project scope and objectives, involving relevant stakeholders and ensuring technical feasibility.
  • Develop detailed project plans to monitor and track progress.
  • Manage changes to scope and schedule using appropriate verification techniques.
  • Collaborate with design engineers to develop and review mechanical designs, ensuring compliance with standards.
  • Report and escalate concerns to management as needed.
  • Manage relationships with clients and stakeholders.
  • Perform risk management to minimize potential risks.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with third parties and vendors.
  • Meet with clients to clarify project requirements.
  • Travel to site for client interaction or OEM supplier visits as required.
  • Delegate tasks to junior staff based on their strengths and experience.
  • Develop project plans for clients and staff sharing.
  • Ensure work meets acceptable standards and maintain project records per quality systems.
  • Prepare specifications, schedules, estimates, reports, meeting agendas, and procurement documents.
  • Design and supervise mechanical engineering activities across project phases, adhering to standards.
  • Assess client and project engineering requirements.
  • Supervise construction activities and provide technical guidance.
  • Develop concept designs and evaluate options technically and commercially.
  • Oversee testing and commissioning of mechanical systems.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Estimate costs for mechanical scope, including equipment and construction.
  • Prepare proposals, expressions of interest, and tenders.
  • Collaborate with local and international teams.
  • Deliver technical client presentations.
  • Mentor junior team members.
