Job description

Job Title: Junior Maintenance Operative - E16, West Silvertown

Contract: 12 Month fixed-term contract

Hours: 40 per week, 08:30 - 17:30 Monday to Friday (+ occasional weekend cover)

Job Description

This role involves responding to reactive tasks and engineering requests, performing routine maintenance, and ensuring high standards of property upkeep. You will deliver excellent customer service to residents, assist with general repairs, manage utilities and safety checks, and support the Facilities Team in site management.

Responsibilities
  • Respond to reactive maintenance requests from Facilities Management and Maintenance Team.
  • Perform tasks according to business standards and SOPs.
  • Provide exceptional customer service to residents.
  • Maintain designated areas to high standards, record findings and remedial actions.
  • Report maintenance, health, and safety risks.
  • Assist with utility meter readings and immediate response issues like leak investigations.
  • Support general repairs including painting, decorating, and clearing drains.
  • Coordinate with external service providers and manage site access.
  • Test and replace lighting components safely.
  • Conduct compliance checks on building systems and record results.
  • Maintain cleanliness and safety in plant rooms and common areas.
  • Manage stock, spares, and tools efficiently.
Skills & Experience
  • Experience in painting and decorating (desirable).
  • Ability to work independently or in a team.
  • Proactive approach and initiative.
  • Ability to work under pressure.
  • Good customer care understanding.
  • NVQ / C&G in a building trade (desirable).
