What will you do?

The Junior Legal Advisor will provide essential legal support to Glacier by assisting with regulatory compliance, contract drafting and review, dispute resolution, and general legal advisory services. This role requires a legally qualified professional who can analyse complex legal issues, provide sound advice to business units, and contribute to corporate governance. The successful candidate will work closely with senior legal professionals, business units, and external stakeholders to mitigate legal risks, ensure regulatory compliance, and contribute to the overall legal strategy of the organization. Key outcomes

  1. Regulatory Compliance & Legal Advisory
    Assist in monitoring and interpreting financial services laws, regulations, and industry trends.
    Support the implementation of regulatory requirements across different business functions.
    Conduct legal research and provide guidance on compliance matters to internal stakeholders.
  2. Contract Review & Drafting
    Draft, review, and update various legal agreements, including contracts, service-level agreements, and financial product documentation.
    Assist in ensuring contracts align with legal requirements and minimize organizational risk.
    Support business teams by clarifying contractual terms and identifying potential legal risks.
  3. Litigation & Dispute Support
    Assist in managing disputes and legal proceedings under the guidance of senior legal advisors.
    Liaise with external legal counsel and track the progress of ongoing cases.
    Draft legal letters and responses to client complaints, and regulatory correspondence.
  4. Business Support & Stakeholder Engagement
    Collaborate with business units to proactively identify and address potential legal challenges.
    Provide assistance on governance and corporate legal matters.
    Support the delivery of legal training sessions and awareness programs for internal teams.
  5. Administrative & Research Support
    Conduct legal research and prepare reports on regulatory developments affecting the business.
    Maintain accurate legal documentation and records.
    Assist with general legal administrative tasks as required.

What will make you successful in this role?

Qualifications and experience
• Matric / Grade 12
• LLB or relevant legal degree from accredited law school.
• Additional financial qualification will be advantageous.
• Completed articles (Admitted Attorney)
• Minimum of 2 years legal and commercial exposure
