Job description

SACAP (The South African College of Applied Psychology) is the leading independent provider of accredited Psychology, Counselling, Human Resource Management, Business Management and Social Work qualifications, with all courses grounded in psychology. We have campuses in Cape Town, Durban, Johannesburg, Pretoria and Online.

SACAP is looking for a Junior Learning and Teaching Coordinator (JLTC) for the Online Campus. This position is fixed term for 1 year. The Junior Learning and Teaching Coordinator coordinates and administers faculty-related activities associated with the Online Campus. The JLTC works closely with the Learning & Teaching Coordinator and (where needed) the Student Administration and Student Support & Development teams, in fulfilment of their duties and responsibilities.

The Junior Learning and Teaching Coordinator will be responsible for the following areas:

  • Communication, coordination alongside and support to the Learning and Teaching Coordinator for the Online Campus.
  • Online Educator Wellness and Engagement
  • Term-on-term timetable scheduling support
  • Liaison & Academic Administration
  • Online Faculty coordination (i.e. Educators):
    • Term-on-term New Online Educator Planning
    • Quality Assurance Process Quality Assurance Process Data Management
    • Online Faculty Administration

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • A minimum of a 3-year undergraduate degree, preferably in Human Resource Management or Business Administration
  • At least 3 years of academic administration / coordination experience, preferably within Higher Education in South Africa
  • Technologically savvy / strong digital literacy skills, with a special interest in Online Education
  • Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written)
  • Highly developed relationship-building / interpersonal skills
  • Excellent time-management and organisational skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Proactive with the ability to anticipate and plan ahead of time

The role will report directly to the Learning and Teaching Coordinator Manager and will work in close collaboration with the Learning and Teaching Coordinator.

Operating Hours

This is a full-time position operating from Mondays to Fridays*:

Monday – Thursday: 08:30 – 17:00

Friday: 08:30 – 16:00

*Due to the nature of this role, there will be a need to work flexible hours to the extent to which it is reasonably necessary to perform the duties of the JLTC position.
