Job summary

Stor-Age Property REIT Limited is seeking a Junior Laravel/PHP Full Stack Developer for Atlantic Seaboard, office-based. You will develop components, REST APIs, and databases with a stack that includes Laravel, PHP, HTML/CSS/JS, MySQL, Redis, and AWS.

You will deploy on AWS EC2, manage Aurora MySQL, implement real-time features with Laravel Broadcasting, and focus on performance, security and collaboration with teams. UK hours and SA public holidays apply.

Qualifications

• Matric/Grade 12 required.
• Relevant degree, diploma or certifications preferred.
• Proven Laravel/PHP full-stack development experience.
• Strong MySQL experience with AWS Aurora MySQL.
• Frontend skills in HTML, CSS, JavaScript within Laravel.
• Experience with AWS EC2/AWS hosting and deployment.
• Experience with Redis and Redis queues, Laravel Broadcasting.
• Familiar with Agile, Git and modern dev practices.
• Good communication and teamwork abilities.
• Willing to work UK hours and SA public holidays.

Our client, a leading UK-based telecommunications and technology provider, is seeking a Junior Laravel PHP Full Stack Developer to join their growing development team.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and improve multiple components of an existing and new applications, including device-level software, REST API, database, and front-end portal.
• Work with a tech stack that includes PHP (Laravel 13 Framework), HTML, CSS, JavaScript, MySQL, Redis and AWS technologies.
• Write clean, scalable, and efficient code for both front-end and back-end development.
• Ensure application performance, security, and scalability are top priorities.
• Collaborate with the development and customer service teams to design and implement new features and enhancements.
• Manage and optimize MySQL databases hosted on AWS Aurora, ensuring optimal performance and query efficiency.
• Creating background services and queues that interacts with Redis queues.
• Maintain REST API endpoints, integrating them with various front-end and back-end components.
• Work with AWS EC2 for deploying and managing cloud-based services and infrastructures.
• Use Laravel’s Broadcasting features to implement real-time communication between various parts of the application and third-party APIs.
• Troubleshoot, debug, and optimize existing codebase.
• Continuously stay up to date with Laravel Framework best practices.

Desired Experience & Qualification

• Matric/Grade 12.
• Relevant degree/diploma/ certifications.
• Proven experience with Laravel Framework for both back-end development and front-end software development.
• A good understanding of MySQL and experience working with AWS Aurora MySQL instances.
• Proficiency in front-end development with HTML, CSS, JavaScript including a strong understanding of creating reusable front-end components in Laravel.
• A good understanding of AWS EC2 and Aurora infrastructure for hosting and deploying applications.
• Experience working with Laravel Broadcasting for real-time web functionality.
• Experience working JavaScript and other technologies for client-side data storage when a connection is not available to ensure device-level functionality is retained until a connection can be established.
• Solid understanding of web services, third party RESTful APIs, and how to integrate them with back-end and front-end technologies.
• Familiarity with modern development practices such as Agile, continuous integration, and version control (Git).
• Good problem-solving, debugging, and performance optimization skills including understanding and optimization of AI generated code.
• Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team.
• Willing to work according to you UK Hours and SA Public Holidays.
