RESPONSIBILITIES

What can you expect?

  • Writing engaging and on-brand social media copy for Instagram, TikTok, Twitter, Facebook, YouTube, and more for a highly respected journalism outlet.
  • Reading editorial articles and crafting social media copy that drives users to read the full articles.
  • Learning and adopting the voice and tone required for each client, ensuring consistency across platforms.
  • Fact-checking copy against client-provided sources to ensure accuracy and credibility.
  • Reviewing and editing written content across clients for social media, blogs, and editorial platforms.
  • Pitching article ideas and social content strategies to enhance engagement and visibility.
  • Implementing SEO and copywriting best practices to maximize content reach and effectiveness.
  • Developing strategies to improve the quality of written content and social media performance.
  • Maintaining internal guidelines for social copy, blog posts, and editorial content to ensure brand alignment.

QUALIFICATIONS

What's important for us:

  • A 2:1 Bachelor’s degree or higher
  • 1+ years experience as a copywriter
  • 1+ years' experience in journalism
  • Great knowledge of SEO
  • High level of attention to detail
  • Experience using various social media platforms
  • Excellent understanding of grammar, punctuation and written English in general
  • Strong work-ethic and self-motivation
  • Ability to work well within a team and balance a shared task load
  • A friendly and enthusiastic demeanour
  • A love of TV shows and movies
