Duties & Responsibilities

Key Performance Areas:

  1. Compilation of advanced reports
  2. Analysis and interpretation of information from management systems to identify areas of possible improvement and risk
  3. Plan and perform special investigations based on customer requirements
  4. Technical training and support of customers on management systems and/or areas of specialization
  5. Provide consultation on the use of "Information about IT" to improve or optimize IT environments
  6. Monitoring and configuration of business impact and other composite relationships
  7. Advanced identification, analysis and resolution of technical problems
  8. Independent completion of tasks, presentation of reports and making recommendations to clients
  9. Release note of all changes, new functions and bugs compiled
  10. Request ticket updated according to status
  11. System tested holistically
  12. Implement patch/release/hot fix to client according to maintenance slot
  13. Audits planned and performed based on customer requirements
  14. Feedback on findings provided to client
  15. Data of findings analysed and interpreted
  16. All requests logged and assigned via RT acted on and updated
  17. Constant monitoring of client infrastructure ensured
  18. System administration tasks performed
  19. Database of monitored objects maintained
  20. Health check alerts actioned
  21. Ensure project is delivered as per SLA
  22. Encourage all participants to take an active role in the project
  23. Monitor progress and manage risks to and recovery of any schedule slippages
  24. Organize any necessary meetings to progress team work (weekly, daily, or ad-hoc as appropriate)
  25. Monthly network health report for the data centre
  26. Daily change meeting (8AM) – updates on sites planned/completed/postponed/decommissioned/cancelled
  27. Standby support for project coordination
  28. Possible overtime as migrations happen in the evening, and there are daily deliverables
  29. Understanding top talkers/voice classes and the reporting thereof
  30. TruView auditing and configuration for Project sites
  31. Netscout migration processes
  32. How-to documentation creation

Desired Experience & Qualification

  1. Previous experience 1-2 years as a network operator
  2. Relevant IT degree or National Diploma
  3. Previous experience 1-2 years in Windows Server or Linux (Ubuntu/Redhat) operating systems
  4. Previous experience 1-2 years in Network IP Addressing and Subnetting
  5. Previous client-facing experience needed.
