About the Role

As a Junior IR Officer, you'll play a key role in advising, facilitating, and consulting on all things IR! Whether you're handling disciplinary hearings, CCMA matters, or building strong relationships with unions, your contributions will be essential to ensuring a smooth and harmonious work environment. Your leadership skills will shine as you handle various IR processes while staying calm and focused under pressure.

What We’re Looking For

To thrive in this role, you should have:

  • A degree or 3-year National Diploma in HR / IR / Law (or a related field)
  • 2-3 years’ experience as an IR Officer or in a similar role, dealing with IR matters
  • Experience dealing with CCMA & Bargaining Council matters, particularly conciliations and arbitrations
  • Proven track record of facilitating retrenchments, incapacities, and poor work performance matters
  • Strong understanding of the Labour Relations Act (LRA), BCEA, CCMA, and Bargaining Councils’ rules
  • Leadership skills, communication mastery, and interpersonal finesse
  • A valid driver’s license and own reliable vehicle (essential!)

What You’ll Do

  • Advise, consult, and facilitate the IR function for day-to-day operations
  • Chair and facilitate disciplinary inquiries and poor work performance matters
  • Foster strong working relationships with unions and union officials
  • Submit reports on internal labour relations trends
  • Oversee Labour Court matters and ensure timely handovers to the legal team
  • Handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment while staying cool under pressure
  • Monday to Friday: 08h00 to 16h30 (overtime as needed)
  • Salary: To be discussed
