Job summary

A leading security services company is seeking an experienced investigator to conduct crime investigations and ensure compliance with relevant procedures. Applicants should possess PSIRA certification and a minimum of three years' experience in investigations. Qualifications

  • Must have a clean disciplinary, criminal and credit record.

Job description

  • Investigation of crime and all related incidents;
  • Handling of informants and intelligence gathering;
  • Ensure compliance with court procedures;
  • Liaison with HR department concerning disciplinary enquiries;
  • Liaison with client, SAPS and Court officials;
  • Inspection of dockets according to brought forward system;
  • Data logging on a Risk Management system;
  • Filing of admin documents and upkeep of official registers;
  • Must be able to conduct the procedures that will be done during the interrogations
  • Must be able to observe threat level and gain information through an operation
  • Coordinate and participate in various investigations and operations

Preferred qualifications / attributes / skills :

  • PSIRA certification- Grade "A";
  • Minimum of 3 years experience in investigation of incidents (criminal as well as departmental);
  • Sound Security knowledge will be an advantage;
  • A working knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook);
  • SAPS, Defence force and NIA experience will be an advantage;
  • Must have excellent presentation, verbal communication and report writing skills;
  • Own reliable / economical transport and valid drivers licence;
  • Strong interpersonal skills and professionalism to liaise with clients;
  • Ability to work independently, under pressure and meet targets, decision making skills;
  • Good organisational skills, patience and willing to go the extra mile;
  • Able to perform standby duties;
  • Clean disciplinary, criminal and credit record;
  • Knowledge of Investigation techniques;
  • Knowledge of Criminal Procedure Act, Labour Relations Act, Constitutional Act, Minerals Act and Precious Metal Act and Poppi Act;
  • Prepared to undergo regular polygraph assessments;
