A leading company in vehicle tracking solutions is seeking a Junior Installation Technician to handle installations, maintenance, and repairs of tracking systems. This entry-level position requires technical aptitude, effective troubleshooting skills, and willingness to travel. Ideal candidates should have a Matric certificate and relevant experience in vehicle electronic systems.
The Junior Installation Technician will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, repair, and removal of Globaltrack's vehicle tracking systems and solutions as well as upgrading and maintaining products.
The position will require a can-do attitude and pro-actively come up with solutions for problems that arise during the installation process and / or repairs process.NOTE : This vacancy is a multiple placements vacancy and will include hiring individuals in DURBAN and JOHANNESBURG.Key ResponsibilitiesInstallationsInstall vehicle tracking devices, fuel sensors, and other tracking-related products in customer vehicles following company quality standards and procedures.Ensure all installations are neat, secure, and compliant with customer and company requirements and quality standards.Maintenance and RepairsConduct health checks on installed devices to ensure functionality and reliability.Perform maintenance and troubleshooting on vehicle tracking systems and related hardware.Repair or replace faulty equipment in a timely and efficient manner.De-installationsSafely remove tracking devices and related products from vehicles when required.Ensure that all removed equipment is accounted for and returned to the warehouse department.Admin, Job Cards and DocumentationMaintain accurate records of installations, repairs, maintenance, and de-installations job cardsplete job cards and service reports promptly and submit them to the relevant department.Ensure fuel slips and other financial documents are maintainedpliance and SafetyAdhere to company and industry safety standards during all installations and repairs.Ensure proper handling and storage of tools, equipment, and sensitive electronic devices.Qualifications and SkillsEducation : Matric certificate or equivalent.Technical training or certification in electronics, automotive systems, or a related field is an advantagepetent Driver with valid Driver's License.Experience : Minimum of 1-2 years of experience on vehicle electronic systems, auto electrical or in any systems installations of a similar technical role.Hands-on experience with vehicle tracking systems or similar products would be advantageous.Skills and Competencies : Strong technical, electrical and mechanical aptitude.Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot issues effectively.Proficiency in using tools and diagnostic equipment for installation and repair.Good communication and customer service skills.Attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality work.Willingness to travel to customer locations as required.Ability to work flexible hours, including occasional weekends or after-hours, to meet customer needs.Physical ability to work on vehicle interior and exterior as well as under trucks and other confined spaces.Clear Criminal record.What a Working Day Will Look Like : Pre-assessment checks of client vehicles & client yards.Installations of new units into Client vehicles according to Globaltrack QA Standards.Health Checks & repairs of existing units.Ensuring vehicle, stock & toolkit is well looked after, clean & in good working order.Seniority LevelEntry levelEmployment TypeFull-timeJob FunctionEngineering and Information TechnologyIndustries : Truck Transportation
