Job summary

Istaff Recruitment is seeking a junior Industrial Engineering candidate in Stellenbosch to analyse existing processes, identify improvement opportunities and support continuous improvement initiatives.

You will work with operations on the warehouse floor, leverage Power BI, SQL and Python to drive data‑driven decisions, implement automation and measure the impact of changes.

Qualifications

• BEng in Industrial Engineering or related qualification.
• Junior or recently qualified candidates welcome.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Good Excel and general computer skills.
• Strong interest in technology, data, AI and continuous improvement.
• Practical mindset and ability to work well with people.
• Experience with Power BI, SQL, Python, Lean/Six Sigma, ERP/WMS or AI tools advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Analyse existing processes and identify opportunities for improvement.
• Develop and implement improved systems, procedures and working methods.
• Identify bottlenecks, waste and inefficiencies.
• Use data and KPIs to measure performance and drive improvements.
• Identify opportunities for automation and digitalisation.
• Investigate and implement practical AI solutions for data analysis, reporting, administration and decision-making.
• Work closely with operational staff to implement improvements on the warehouse floor.
• Measure the impact and results of improvement projects.
